Bluff Lake Nature Center is a nice place to go for hiking and enjoying a slice of open space in an urban area. This painting is an attempt to try something different. It is for me, painting outside the box. This sketch might get re-worked to straighted up some of the edges and move some of the shapes to different planes but what a challenge. Whatcha think?

If you missed the paint out at the Lair 'O the Bear this morning, you missed a really nice paint out. Ok, so it was a little cold, but standing in the sun made it a beautiful day. The scrub brush was glowing orange and gold and the shadows were a neon blue and the snow was sparkling diamonds. I think I got a little sun tan, maybe not. This painting, I think, will be entered into the PAAC show. The deadline,I am told, is coming up real soon. This web image doesn't do it justice as there are purples, and mauve's that kick the orange and blue colors. Maybe I'll just keep this one around for a while. :-)

Here we are at Delaney Farms in Aurora. The historic round barn in the background is something I have painted, or tried to paint for a long time. The wind was really cold but we found some shelter in this little depression by the parking lot. The way the sun moved through the trees made for an interesting painting. Maybe a couple of touch ups here and there and I will call this one finished. or maybe not, :-)
