Rocky Mountain Plein Air in Estes Park. 

What a lot of fun to participate in this event. The beautiful area of Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park was so much fun. With so many outstanding artists in this event the painting level went way up. Congratulations to all the artists who won awards and to Lynda Vogel for an outstanding job keeping it all together.

A beautiful day to paint. Warm sunshine, cool breeze, gorgeous location and willing subjects, lol There is a lot to paint here but I tried to get this 3 layer background. Wasn't as successful as I'd like to be but it was still a fun paint. This could become another painting with improvements,
of course, he, he, he.

Waterton Canyon

 Waterton Canyon 11x14 oil - from the parking lot. Spoiler Alert, this was started on location and finished in the studio. Not real happy with this. It will likely end up in the recycle bin. My how that box is getting bigger and bigger. Maybe I will rework this one until it gets cooked. lol

This is a studio painting for the Frisco gallery. It is the only place that lets me hang larger pieces.
WY Tall Trees. 18x24 oil on panel. I like to paint on canvas but lately the panels are turning out more successful. I wonder why.
