love the way he talked about the dialog of painting and the use of color notes to keep relationships moving around the painting

the start with open Grisaille and then moving on to color notes is very logical and relational

 the highest level of painting is clearly expressing the concept. Mastery of painting is the way to reach the expression of the concept to others. I have a long way to go before everyone will know what I am expressing. Stephen Early is a master of his craft and is a wonderful teacher as well.
